These blocks were professionally stabilized by K&G (Knife & Gun Finishing Supply) So you know it was done right. These blocks are Black Palm from SE Asia. The blocks were cut at an extreme angle following the grain to maintain their strength while showing off the oval shaped leopard spots. This wood is very easy to work with. If you need your blocks cut into scales, I can do that at no charge. Just mention you need scales cut in your post. I usually cut scales to about 3/8" thick unless requested otherwise. Scales will look a bit duller when you receive them. They will be thickness drum sanded but not polished. This way I can cut scales for free.
