I actually went with the 940-1501. Knifeworks exclusive. 20CV steel which I prefer over the S90V. I also like the blue lines and accents running through the G10. Less boring. I had the same reaction as you to the aluminum on the regular 940. Good luck in finding the one that's right for you!!

how many 940 threads do there need to be this month? please try the search function. there is LOTS of info that can help you on this subject.
in anycase, i prefer carbon fiber and s90v. the g10 and s30v is very good too. its not as premium and thats the price difference. i dont think you can go wrong. plus s30v is easier to sharpen than s90v, but wont hold an edge as long.
