Being taken care of to my satisfaction. Just an error that happened....no foul.

I am confused...did you get paid?

It's not that unusual for the buyer address and verified PayPal address to be different. If they are I always ask for an explanation from the buyer. Most common is it's the wife's PayPal.

That really sucks. I hope there's a special place in Hell for petty thieves who rip people off by pretending to be a friend. I hope you can get the situation resolved.

Yes, that is why PayPal is reversing the payment.

Received an email from the PayPal account that funds were sent from. Owner admitted that Sharp_Canadian (email associated with) is her partner. But no explanation why a refund was requested after acceptance and positive experience with the knife.

BTW, if this gets ironed out and all is right, I'll will kill this thread.

Sounds like a scam to me. Though, as you admitted you did let yourself get scammed.

Let's assume it is not a scam for a moment. So his partner got upset about a purchase he made with her paypal? She got her money back so if he is not a total POS he should be sending your knife back or making you whole in some other way.

Either way, if it is a scam or if his partner did really get upset about the purchase, you should get the knife back, get paid, or the hammer should be dropped.

Also, would this be a situation were negative feedback would be warranted? Unless the knife comes back or you get paid the transaction happened and you got screwed.

It sucks because, while I made a mistake protecting myself, and went off the buyers feedback score etc., and the connections on PayPal. If this goes bad it will now make me very ridged in how I sell things for now on.

If I get the knife back, I hope it is still LNIB....I mean, it was mint/unused.

If you haven't done so, forward all communications you've had with the buyer and his partner to PayPal. Start with the one where he requested you ship to a different address. I don't see how they couldn't side with you considering what you've said.

OK....Update.

The owner of the PayPal just told me that they did not initiate the refund. Their bank did because of insufficient funds. She is heading to the bank now and depositing money and will make this right.

Once the issue is closed, I will delete my posts, close this thread and ask the mods to delete.

That's good, but this seems like a problem between the buyer and PayPal. Doesn't seem right that they would take the funds from you if you held up your end of the deal. Maybe they were just freezing the funds temporarily until they sorted it out? Makes me nervous.

Sharp_Canadian is a good member...I sent him a knife to the U.S. Address he requested and his wife picked the package up in the states the following week...I hope this gets cleared up

I am hopeful that this works out. My OP was just a "heads up". Did not know if his account, PayPal...whatever was hacked.

Like I said, when all is clear....I'll kill this thread.

Hope all works out. Paypal can be a nightmare. In my experience they almost always side with the party filing the dispute, whether they are right or wrong.

There is a hold on my account. The refund has been initiated and funds requested from my main funding source, as I had already transferred the money to my bank.
