Sir, I'm a novice when it comes to knives, but I want one to carry in the "scout" position or horizontal in the front. Would a knife like this be a good choice or how are you carrying it? Hope this isn't a bad question, and thank you for your time.

Jerry,
I generally carry using a homemade kydex/leather dangler that attaches with the same Large Tek-Lok pattern. That method just works best for me as a rather large fella.
I have carried knives this size and larger scout style, but the pants that I currently wear do not accommodate that carry style as well.
I do not see any reason that this one could not be carried in either of the 2 positions you mentioned if you are comfortable with that style.
