Sorry if this sounds stupid, but what is "the 2072 Nepali New Year"? Just wondering if it is something on a higher plane or a type o'. Thank you

In Nepal, one of the calendars they use by tradition is called Vikram Sabat, and it is about 57 years ahead of the Gregorian calendar that we use.

In many eastern cultures the new year occurs near the start of Diwali, a joyous festival of lights.

Near march and april of 2017 it will be 2073 or '74 by that calendar.

I am not an authority on the matter and am learning about this myself.

We can be sure of one thing - this is an awesome blade from the future.

It is 18" long total, including blade and handle, and 36 ounces (2.2 lb or 1kg).

At the thickest point the spine is .33" or just short of 3/8"

Usable blade length is 10.5".

Horn handle is 6 and 3/8"

Widest point on blade at the sweet spot is 2 and 3/4".

Tang tapers to 1/8" (.125) at the bottom.
