The BK2. I would pull it out of the sheath and they would turn and run! "Oh, NO! a BK2!" Like Godzilla in downtown Hong Kong! :D

RBK isn't readily available...

neither is patrol machete (nobody mentioned that? bad choice anyway)

i think the Becker Pistol Bayonet is the way to go. stab then shoot :)

I vote for asshole and elbows. I'll be running with my BK-5 still in the sheath. :D

Im with Guyon here, knife fight is a terrible terrible idea.
Having said that, if I was forced to fight with knives I would say BK-15

BK-5. But if I can't run, I'd prefer my BK-G19. :p

Nice suggestions, but I would make the move to the KA-BAR 1245 Tanto Fighting Knife 8"; it covers the thrust, slice, has excellent penetration and reach, and is very sturdy.

I still can't beleive nobody is in support of my remora idea. It's so small nobody would see it coming until it's too late.

I vote for the BK5. Not only is the blade shape suitable for traditional fighting grip positions, but it works extremely well in the reverse (ice pick) grip.

I know absolutely nothing about knife fighting-------------well I take that back--------------I have no real-world experience on the subject. It is very close to the absolute last situation I would ever want to find myself in. That said, if for some reason my Glock magazines all ran completely dry and I still had more bad guys to fight, I'd want a BK5 in my hand.

If I were some sort of uber-ninja expert knife fighter, then by default I would HAVE to have a Bagwell bowie or Randall #1.

BTW, this thread got me researching the Count of Monte Cristo, and I learned that the latest movie is very different from the book. I then researched the book, and learned there are several translations (from French) and both abridged and unabridged versions also. An hour later I ordered an unabridged copy that's 1276 pages.

The first thing I'd do is shoot the bastard a few times for rude behavior.

The only thing with the bk5 is that it doesn't have anything to stop another blade from sliding down through your hand, a ramp might and i say "MIGHT" deflect a blade just enough....maybe.

Never been in a knife fight, but I think I'll go with everyone and say the 5... Although have a lighter knife like a tweener might be faster... I have no idea...

I think a knife fight won't allow you to parry, hence a D guard/ramp/double guard etc might be a moot point. When it gets down to that they end up pretty quick, unlike hollywood ninja scenes. Most thugs that are doing time (or not) use kitchen knives.

All that aside, I would go with the camp 5 if I need to, but then u never know when u might find yourself in that pickle, right? First choice is run, 2nd would be a couple of .40 hollows from my sig that rides with me every day, 3rd whatever knife I have on me at the moment. BUt for thread's sake it would be a 5.

Bladite - when was a BK15 used in Dune??? it was nowhere around when that movie came out! I'll have to see it again, such a cool movie. And 52100, while the newest Count movie may not be a 100% faithful reproduction, it's fair enough considering they have to cram such an awesome book into less than 2 hours of film (to me, the best book-to-film effort goes to the LOTR trilogy)

Dune was a TERRIBLE movie. On some cuts the director even removed his name from the credits. (see? respecting his anonymity here)
The sci-fi channel adaptation: even worse.

I'm sure Bladite is referring to the shape of the crysknives...

The recent Count of Monte Cristo? way better.

I got into a fight during college, unfortunately when he pulled a knife, I had my fists. Long story short, I got stabbed under my right latissimus dorsi. I still won, but it would have been better had I had a BK5 or BK7 with me.
