I will only vote TN, because your son is so close to his grandparents... other than that, life is what you make it where you're at, regardless....

good luck to you !!!

I like Tampa, but I would much rather raise children in Tennessee. I would pick a smaller town close to Nashville.

If you can tolerate the heat, humidity, bugs, and flatness of Florida or Tennessee, have you considered Australia?

It's not very nice compared to Ouray, but we have less snow.

Nashville or Tampa. Can you imagine living shoulder to shoulder with five million other people?!?

"New York City, Mr Dundee. Home to seven million people.

Incredible. Imagine seven million people all wanting to live together. Yeah, New York must be the friendliest place on Earth."

Tennessee! This is a beautiful state. Traffic isn't bad in Nashville either, well it's about the same as it was in Milwaukee. I'm 100 miles south and wouldn't move anywhere else. Go for it. Trying to get my young'ns to move to NashVegas. Good luck on whatever you decide. Can always flip a coin, but use a 2 headed coin.

I am from Memphis and Nasville traffic is bad but was it not due to road construction? It has been a few years since I have driven through........ I dont know if you care about guns. Nashville has some great gun shows. I miss Bob Pope.

The photo above was a random image from the internet. Maybe that massive mess of congestion was caused by construction that's not evident in the photo. But based on Google image search, it wasn't a one-time-only event.

Horrific traffic conditions of the NE Highlands, New Mexico:

TN over FL any day. I am actually about to move soon and TN or CO are my top choices. I grew up in TN and have family there, plus its nice. Plenty to do!
Florida is alright, if I'm just visiting.

crime stats are available online ...

relatives. tricky, but well, that's why they invented video chat. talk as long as you want, when you want, for free. ah, the internet.

TN has advantages. esp being closer to Gatherings. and good knife stores. and very nice gun laws. and bacon. and dolly world. and ...

I guess it is settled. Come to TN. I could not wait to get back to TN after I retired from the Army. I was raised in Memphis and Jackson till military then when I came back with a family, we headed to east TN. Best decision we have ever made. If you hurry, you can make it to the gathering in October!

Wife & I are driving down to Nashville friday morning for the interview.
They are reimbursing us mileage + a hotel room for friday night + 2 tickets to coderfaire on saturday.

Thanks for all the great info about TN everyone!
We'll see if this pans out and if it does we may be moving to TN soon.

I live in Central Florida and have lived here All my life. I don't really like it here honestly. Would move if I had the option and plan to in a few years. It's not a bad place though. Lots of stuff going on and where I live is very safe. I love to be outdoors and in the woods and central Florida is not the best place for that so I there are some reasons. Hope you decide, I would pick right outside of Nashville
