closest place to camp with gun?

I am wondering what is the closest place to camp with guns from New Jersey? I would like to do some target practice but just carrying for protection would be fine also.

There's a lot of National Forrest in VA and most of it is available for camping with guns as long as there is an existing firearms season. Some campgrounds have rules about firearms but there are "back roads" everywhere that offer great locations.

get a florida carry license and go in pa. You can get a Florida carry license as a non Florida resident. Pennsylvania honors that license. NJ doesn't.
