Just a quick question, what is the best way to close the Paramilitary, one hand, right handed?

I find it easier to close one handed using the left hand.

I tried searching the threads but I was unsuccessful. Thanks in advance to those who'll help.

for the right hand i would say pinch the scales with your finger and press with your thumb.

My way: right hand (if you're righthanded) with thumb on lock & index finger in the spyderhole.

You can end up closing it smoothly after several tries.

I depress the lock with my index finger, gently flick my wrist until the blade moves past the lock, and then close the blade with my ( ) thumb.

I usually depress the lock with my index finger and flick the knife shut, or just use both hands. I find it much easier to close one handed with my left hand.

I just grip the knife like usual with lock facing toward the sky, and use my right thumb to depress the lock, hold it, flick the blade against my index finger knuckle (blade choil hits finger) then close the knife by using my fingers.

To everyone,

thanks for the reply and the instructions.

Symphonyincminor,
thanks for point out the video. Man, it sure makes opening and closing the para look very easy and sexy.

I currently have a Military. I love the knife, I carry it around the house and the farm for about 2 months now. It really cuts very easily through the usual stuff ( boxes, packages, food, toothpaste tubes, PET Bottles, etc..) However, it is just too big for EDC it the City. But i'm beginning to like the flat grind that it has versus my other knives. So just like other members of the thread. I'm looking for a smaller alternative.

I previously have some doubts on the lock but the video above sure is pretty convincing.

I hold it parallel to the ground, and release the lock. As the blade falls closed I rotate the handle so that it ends up vertical, pivot end up. That way the blade just falls into place and I don't have to touch the blade at all when closing it.

I put my thumb against the side of the blade and use my index finger to push the lock in. It is the best way to close it that I have found. It works 100% of the time and you have total control.

I find it takes a bit of getting used to. The compression lock is not my favorite but at least it works.

and if it's still a little stiff (eg. the blade won't drop), you can also use your middle-finger to disengage the lockbar (hold the knife's handle close near te pivot with the rest of your fingers), and dip down the blade with your index finger
