Clothes for TEOTWAWKI?

Most countries have a brand or three of decent and appropriately priced work gear. In the US and Canada its stuff like Dickies, Carhartt, and the like. Here in Australia, there is Hard Yakka, FXD, and similar. When I was visiting Germany all the trades workers I saw all had a similar style of pants from what seemed like a couple of different brands that were styled similarly to the Fjallravens that I ended up buying myself. Some of it has to do with workplace standards, for example, if a whole bunch of industries require reflective stripes, then shiney cuffs are going to be on a lot of pants. They may not be super stylish, but when you want to blend in, it makes sense. Plus you are likely to find pants that are more conducive to the conditions, here when it's hot you might want some lighter-weight pants that also have decent knee reinforcement, or maybe have a bit more stretch, those can be had.
Fjallraven makes some really solid stuff though, and they are not slaved to symmetrical pockets, so the layouts actually make a lot of sense. The other brand I'd look at is Varusteleka, they are a surplus store that now makes their own stuff. I don't own any yet, but they are a company that seems to only want to sell you stuff once, in the good way.
Of course every country has its own famous brand, but what is the famous brand in Britain? I probably don't know... I met a lot of good brands, but the one I remember most was the shop on The Trendy Toddlers. I found a lot of baby boy clothes there. The whole point is that such clothes should always be of high quality. And this is exactly the criterion that I needed. Because it is children's clothing for the first time can give a sense of comfort, warmth and convenience.

for pants. easily jeans. I have jeans ive been wearing since high school (many decades now) out in the jungle and swamps my whole life and still going strong. not those trendy and popular brands and skinny ones that are stone washed and have fashion holes or are faded, etc. old school thick material dark blue and stiff material ones. they'll last a long long time.

If anybody is interested in project farm on youtube- they have done some recent tests of jeans brands and worst to best is a very big difference.

Jeans can be dangerous. What do you think happens when those jeans get wet? They get heavy, they take forever to dry, and they lose almost all of their ability to provide your legs with heat insulation. You'll be walking around with cold soggy legs. That's easily solved when you've got easy access to heated indoor shelter and a fresh change of clothes, but it becomes potentially life threatening if you don't.

TEOWTWAKI, is that the name of the bear from Star Wars? (Credit Mallory Archer)

I have been getting in 5 11 for my airsoft. Which seems to be the cold steel of tactical clothing at the moment.

But they have some dumb fun stuff like magazine holders in the pockets, secret handcuff key spots and knife pockets in the boots.

So probably kit myself out with that.

Any decent outdoor/work/duty gear is gonna last you longer than the initial SHTF situation will. If after a few weeks, things don’t return to normal, and we’re all living in a Walking Dead episode, then there will be enough abandoned residences full of clothes that people couldn’t take with them. You and your rag-tag band of misfits will be raiding empty houses for all your needs, including houses. And in a few years, when we’re all living in communal farming villages, a small group will be sewing together all the animal skins the hunting parties bring back. Hope you like buckskin.
