cloudcroft?

Howdy! Was stationed in Alamogordo for a few years and explored the Sacramento Mountains quite thoroughly, which is where Cloudcroft is. Not a bunch of wilderness in the classic sense, but it has many beautiful and rugged areas. Stop by the Forest Service office in Alamogordo or check it out on the web, should be under United States Forest Service, Lincoln National Forest. Haven't been there in a few years, so I'm not up to date on trails and such, but there used to be a rim trail that overlooked the valley and White Sands that was awesome. Oh, almost forgot, be sure to stop by the Inn at Cloudcroft for a meal. It's a bit pricey, but a pretty cool old Lodge. Happy Trails..
