cloudflare 522 error

Still having issues with this. It's been a week now since I've been able to send PM's without getting an "Error 524" message.

I have had issues with the same Cloudflare deal too.

Cate

In an email Cate has asked that I add to her post as she is unable to access BF.

"If you see my post in that BF site help area... please tell them that this is happening day and night out here for me. I have NO problems with other websites at this time too."

Just an observation ... I see Cate in Montana is almost directly south of Cowtown, Alberta and that a lot of issues seem to be voiced from the West.

CloudFlare is like an evil serpent, determined to ruin my weekends. I appreciate the efforts to keep the website operable and can only imagine the nearly year-long headache that CloudFlare has become. Perhaps their service isn't worth what it's costing.

If only that were the case...

I live about as far to the southeast as you can get in the United States and this has been a consistent problem with larger posts. Smaller posts seem to be posting (or at least previewing -- we shall see if this makes it "out there"), but anything with more than a few quotes ultimately times out with what for me is a consistent error 524. Most documentation from Cloudflare regarding that error seems to blame the httpd server or mysql queries proxied by Cloudflare, though this could still be caused by problematic settings on Cloudflare's side just as easily as heavy load on BF's servers. It's terrible when you find yourself stuck in the middle of the blame game between vendors. Good luck in finding a permanent solution.

I am still having ALL kinds of problems getting here. I live in Western Montana for now. I live in town and not in a rural area at THIS point of time. That may change soon or within this year.

I think (?) that I have to get a paid membership to change my name when it comes to the _Montana part of it if I decide to get one. Example: Catherine_Montana

There was/is nothing wrong with my Charter ISP connection when this happens with the BF forum.

I am having problems with Cloud Flare to Data Base Errors and so forth.

This has happened before in the past for me on and off.

This has happened for over a week here for me. Day or night.

I am retired and up and down at all hours. I do research and study online. I use my computer for a radio so my computer is on most of the time too.

There are no issues with both computers (My husband's or my computer.) and scans have been run.

I can get to many other forums, national and international news, various other websites including real estate ones with NO problems. I can listen to radio from all over the country too.

It is very frustrating!

Sometimes, I can barely make one post and I wonder if it 'takes'.

Other times, this website will NOT load at all! Not one page. Zero!

Then when it does load, shows up, it will not load to a specific page or post NO matter what section I go to. I have favorite sections on this website.

Sometimes, I keep on trying at all hours to get here if I am 'already' sitting in front of my computer. Other times, I just GIVE UP because it is frustrating.

I'm having way way more issues with cloudfare errors recently. Sometimes I can only get on 1 out of 5 times

I understand your frustration too!

I had two people try to get here for me besides Susan in Canada.

One lived in Florida and one lived in Maryland. They had issues too.

I did not ask my friends in Maine, CT and NY to get here just to test it for me.

I can get to other places all over the country and overseas online with no issues.

Cloudflare apparently has been hitting session limits. We're working on improving them.

Is it helpful to shrink the size of posts/quoted text/number of images in the meanwhile, or does that just shift the problem onto other users?

The update is much appreciated, I'm glad it's not a "he said she said" situation. Those drive me absolutely batty when I get caught in the middle... :grumpy:

Has nothing to do with it; session is a total request for everything on the page. Thanks for asking though.

glad to know you guys are working on it.
Its been a real bummer:(
For me its only been happening at night after around 10:30 pm
For example last night I couldn't access the forums from about 11 pm to early this morning.

I get the same thing regularly in the UK, certainly not a local issue

UK is routed through East coast so I'll check and see if we're running into routing issues.
