:confused:WTF, Are you Serious???

What do you own the Bandwidth here?

Sorry Where not all "Experts" like YOU. Most of Your friggin Comments make me want to PUKE.:thumbdn:

Great Pics and an Awesome Knife Lorien. I, and probably most others Enjoy your posts and Pictures. As a Fellow knife collector, I enjoy seeing what Everyone Collects.

If Some People don't Like the Thread or the knife, Don't look at it, Simple!! More so keep Ridiculous comments to themselves or Private!!

I want to kick you in the balls.

It's bad enough that this kid is a complete and total attention whore, but you encourage him. What is this, the third thread on the SAME knife?

It's a nice knife, it's GREAT sheath....but enough already....it isn't the Tut Dagger, it isn't a Cinquedea, Jim's Bowie or a Virgil England masterwork.

Lorien.....don't want to discourage you, make you go away or stifle your voice....but seriously....why don't you just set up a website as a shrine to this piece, and put the hyperlink in your sig line?

I realize that I'm free to ignore that which I wish to, but SOME stuff that Lorien has been putting up lately has been invaluable, thanks to the encouragement and support of yet MORE experts...so it's hit and miss.

Best Regards,

STeven Garsson

I do the snap cut thru paper tubes myself with almost every knife I get

The smaller the knife gets the harder it is but honestly you can really tell something about a knife from that simple fun test

Congrats and glad your knife got there

Magnus, I had to digest your sheath a little at a time through several viewings. Your multi talents yield superb results. Design, considering the knife it houses is as good as it gets. Execution and attention to minute details cause me to smile. The stitching is second to none, machine or hand, right down to the thread color.

The knife is very nice too, but I, naturally, am drawn to the sheath because of what I do. I wish you were here (USA) so I could come and study your metal and wood working techniques as they apply to sheath making.

Puke away, Ricky, puke away.

Don't know about "expert"....how many times have you been quoted in Blade, or any other magazine?

Jim Siska likes you, so you can't be completely bad. He likes me too. Jim and I first met in 1985...how 'bout you?

Best Regards,

STeven Garsson

Steven, I don't Want to Crap up Lorien's Thread

I really don't care who you know, who you met or What you Own! All you do is Belittle Makers and collectors.I have seen it over and Over again.
You Brag about Being quoted in a Magazine:p I'd Be quite Embarrassed with your ridiculous Remarks. In fact, Blade Magazine should put the stupidity you post on Others Threads on This Forum in the magazine for everyone to get a laugh. I'm Sure other People outside Bladeforums Would love to view your Responses:D
Maybe one Day I'll be Hot shit like you and be in a Magazine:cool:

Lorien, congratulations on the whole project. It was a pleasure to view. The knife itself is a work of art. I am wondering on two details- was copper the best choice for the sheath accents? (too similar- iron or blued accents to offer a slight contrast) . And also, the knife itself- form, it does resemble a certain "fantasy knife" genre..

Though not a complaint, i'm sure there is nothing about it you do not love. What inspired the style and grind of this piece?

1- yes absolutely it was the best choice. He had offered the possibility of using damasteel, but after choosing the handle material the choice was clear. There were a lot of choices made during the creation of this knife which coalesced into this finished product, which I feel completely fulfills and expands greatly upon the original impetus. This knife turned out to be more than what I had initially intended it to be. Much more, actually. Which is why I'm so excited about it.

2- yes you are right. I greatly enjoy the work of Jose DeBraga, at least what I've seen of it in David Darom's book of fixed blades, and also Virgil Englund which is some of the inspiration behind using materials prone to patina, like copper. I don't know anything about the knife you posted a picture of but the similarity is striking. There really is nothing new under the sun, is there? I'm sure I've seen this knife Magnus made in one of the bazillion Conan comics I read when I was a kid. But at least there will only ever be one Stormy Weather. It's a singular object.

Great knife, Lorien, a little bit over the top for my taste but awesome craftsmanship.
I am also really glad for a little feature called the ignore list, it makes all sorts of morons disappear.

Paul, your comments and kind words are very appreciated and means a lot to me! Makes me happy to know that I cause you to smile! :)

I am honoured to see that you want to study my techniques! I also wish I was in USA more often, that way I certainly could learn so much from you too!
I am uncertain if I will go to Blade in June this year... Very likely in 2012 though! Do you attend or visit Blade or other shows? It would be a great pleasure to a least get to shake your hand one of these days!

Regards
/Magnus

Magnus, Blade is a must attend for me EVERY year (as long as I am able). Age is rather unforgiving when it comes to long travel.

Your addition of elements of wood or metal matching those used in the knife add an extra dimension to most all your sheaths, and your flowing design with regard to the individual knife makes for the best looking packages available.

Steven is a long time and productive member of this forum and does offer us (among other things) needed balance between honest and objective opinion/critique and over zealous pats on the back and high fives. Even though he could be more courteous and tactful at times in doing so. :)

His (and probably other’s) point could just have easily been made by just simply saying “Lorien, there definitely can be too much of a good thing”.
But then, that wouldn’t have been our STeven. ;)
