Feeding some of my geek side :o I have been keeping track of my cars fuel mileage.

I created excel spreadsheet that tracks everything - I have to enter the date / how much fuel I put in / how much I paid and how much I drove since last fill up.

Its a 1998 VG Golf with 190k on the clock with 5 speed transmission - (I converted everything to miles and mph for you guys)

So in summer time I average 378 miles on a full tank of gas - 34.59 miles per gallon:thumbup:. Not bad for a Mexican build German POS....

In the winter time I average 331 miles on full tank of gas - 21.46 miles per gallon:thumbdn:

I also spend $1050 on gas since July 09 and drove 7859 miles since then.

Anyways geek session is over....:foot:

I get around 1/3 your summer mileage...I'm jealous.

but the car is a POS - serves even as delivery vehicle.

I'm hoping to get another year and a half from it before replacing.

I bought me wife a Prius a couple months ago. We drove from Chicago to Orlando (over 1200 miles each way) for $65 each way. We are averaging just under 50 MPG.

Not bad mileage Pauli...I have a 95 Explorer and that sucker only gets under 14 miles per gallon and that is in 2WD! I can only imagine what my mileage is when I have it in 4WD with the defroster on!

The Prius does have incredible mileage Brian! Our neighbors/friends have one and they get some ridiculous number like 60-something-mpg for highway driving.

I hope things are improving for your loved ones Mr. Night.

Wow thats amazing gas mileage Brian - a co-worker had one as a rental on his vacation in Nevada he really liked it.

I missed you guys....
thanks so much for all the smoke and prayers,,, I think it's helping. there hasn't really been any change in her condition, but that is actually a good thing. she is stable and conscious and able to take food. she will stay in the icu for a couple of more weeks, but that is good too. round the the clock care and the doctors seem competent....
on top of everything else, we are having to do an unplanned move. we live in a duplex, and some psycopath that just got out of prison just moved in on the other side. he has these dogs that bark constantly, and when I went over to introduce myself and ask him to quiet his dogs down, he blew his stack immedietly and tried to start a fist fight about it. well in my present mental state I almost got out Mr. Mossberg to settle it, but mommas cooler head prevailed, and we are moving. sorry for the rant, but this week has been very trying and I neede an unload.

OP, I will be pulling for Gat man. cancer is the devil, he has a big fight on his hands... smoke sent--

and to everyone: thanks, you guys are awesome!

Thank you.:)

More importantly, glad to hear things are a bit better for you and yours ... despite that unplanned move. Nothing more annoying than a psychotic neighbor.

The worst part about the state of the union isn't listening to Mr. Prez blow smoke......its having to stare at Nancy Pelosi for an hour...
