You know,
I would like to see your interpretation of
a bushcraft knife.
really... I like the looks of some of them, with that
scandi grind or whatever its called.
Convex is the only way to go. Easy to sharpen and inexpensive for sharpening equipment.
So what is your favorite bushcrafter?
I meant what's your favorite bushcrafter for an average sized guy![]()
My favorite outdoor knife is my Pepperized Chopper. I feel much safer with this than a hatchet (especially when limbing a tree). Of course it does well at chopping and battoning, but it also good at making tent pegs and other projects like these tongs. The knife is relatively light and very well balanced.
The finish Mike put on it is incredible too.

The middle is like a Mirror finish
Tequila

Plus you can open a beer with it!![]()
I've used that once or twice. The best was when I made the above tongs on a camping trip with my brother in law. He was like, "WTF is that? (in a scared way)", while I made the tongs. His young boys were saying Uncle Brian is the coolest. When I was done with the tongs, I popped open a beer for my wife (with the Horton) and didn't say a word.
I love that chopper Brian. The bottle opener is just the icing on the cake! Hope all are doing well tonight. I am going to hang out with my brother in law....that means a hangover. Dude is Irish, and owns a bar.....trouble for me. Hopefully tomorrow is not too brutal. I am going to try the 1 in 3 technique.....every three beers they have, I drink one.
