You know,
I would like to see your interpretation of
a bushcraft knife.
really... I like the looks of some of them,with that
scandi grind or whatever its called.

So what is your favorite bushcrafter?

My favorite outdoor knife is my Pepperized Chopper. I feel much safer with this than a hatchet (especially when limbing a tree). Of course it does well at chopping and battoning, but it also good at making tent pegs and other projects like these tongs. The knife is relatively light and very well balanced.

The finish Mike put on it is incredible too.:thumbup:

Thanks for the accolade Brain!

I must say that after handling this knife for several hours, in total, I found it to be very fast, surprisingly so, non-fatiguing, uncannily versatile and , like Brian, I much prefer the chopper over a hatchet or axe for limbing as it is just much safer. I wish we had had a chopper when I was i kid, cutting the winters supply of firewood every summer. Actually, I think I just figured out why I am so enamored with these choppers,..... childhood.

I've used that once or twice.:D The best was when I made the above tongs on a camping trip with my brother in law. He was like, "WTF is that? (in a scared way)", while I made the tongs. His young boys were saying Uncle Brian is the coolest. When I was done with the tongs, I popped open a beer for my wife (with the Horton) and didn't say a word.

Nice :thumbup::D

I love that chopper Brian. The bottle opener is just the icing on the cake! Hope all are doing well tonight. I am going to hang out with my brother in law....that means a hangover. Dude is Irish, and owns a bar.....trouble for me. Hopefully tomorrow is not too brutal. I am going to try the 1 in 3 technique.....every three beers they have, I drink one.
