I remember when my parents left my brother and I alone for more than 10 minutes we would raise all kinds of hell. One time I decided to take Mom's motorcycle for a spin and ended up putting it down in the gravel. I was 13 or so then. I THINK 20 years later she may have forgiven me... but I still won't bring it up!

When my parents were away once I drag raced my friend in my moms Mustang, against his dads pickup, that supposedly ,''had a cam in it''. We went to the store later for a bunch of junk food and when we were pulling up to our farm the county sheriff was there waiting. He said someone called and yata yata, but that he couldn't do anything since he didn't witness said race. He just wanted to know who had won the race. I was 13, and couldn't believe he just got into his car and left, chuckling. Of course this could only happen in rural farm country in Idaho.

Lots of drag races here too. I still have the '71 SS Chevelle that I bought when I was 16. She's not as pretty as she used to be but It's a miracle we both made it through my teens in one piece!


So who won the race?

Thats cool man, my sisters BF in HS had a 1969 SS396 Chevelle, very fast, in a straight line, we were Ford guys, my brother and me , and gave him a lot of crap. I really liked that big block though.

THe Mustang won the race, due to traction advantage. The pickup just smoked the, ''Tire''....Lol

Traction is important. My brothers awd Eclipse (turbo) took me by surprise when he first got it.


ETA: If I was buying a new vehicle today it would be a Ford. Some of the mechanics I worked with long ago (and am still friends with) would disown me though!
