So, I was driving to work just now, stop to fuel up and when I drive on, I hear this clunk-clunk-clunk sound,,, so I pull over and go to the rear of my car,,, the exhaust is laying on the ground ?!?

I did hear a change in motor sound the past days, but didn't have time to go to the garage

This car, a VW Lupo 1.0 from 1999, hasn't even got 90.000 km's (+-56000 miles) on the dial ! Is this normal ?

So I guess I have to start looking for a new (secondhand) car 'cause this one isn't worth much any more and I don't want to spend too much money in repairs on it,,,

Does anybody know if a Chevrolet C1500 from 1997 running on LPG is any good ? Only has some 93000 miles on it,,, any known issues with this model ? ,,, I want something bigger now :D

Sounds liek a pretty simple welding repair on the Lupo. I would chalk it up to normal wear and tear. Mounts get weak and fall off sometimes.

I'll check with my neighbour, who is a mechanic at a VW garage for an estimate, but truth be told I was tired of that little car any way,,, other drivers overhere don't think you count when driving such a small car,,, they'd cut in front of you just to wait at the red traffic light !

Get one of these then. Do it live.

1.0L Lupo lol - Chibbs how is this thing on gas...

I drive a rusted to shit 99 Golf with 220k miles on it - motor runs like new but the body is gone...

@Obi1: I wish I had the cash for something like that,,, taxes and cost per year would do me in on their own

@Pauli: I do something of 350km on a full tank (30L),,, and it accel. something like 25sec to reach 100km/hr :p

BTW, the Lupo was bought for the wife, but guess who ended up driving it 99% of the time while she looks pretty in our Nissan Qasqhai

I have a 99 1500 z71. It doesn't run on Lpg. It runs on 8 cyl of 350cubic inch gas sucking American small block. Costs a fortune to drive. 21 gallon tank.

Does running it on LPG make it more fuel-efficient or at the contrary ? Any known issues with such a car which I should make sure to check before buying ?

ps: it's just a dream probably better of with a small(er) car,,, But it's pretty cheap to buy and insurance and taxes are also very affordable 'cause it is listed as 'light freight',,,

Chibbi, LPG means a little higher consumption for the same power. The main advantage is said to be lower price compared to gasoline (that can any EU bureuacratic prick sweep off by declaring the same consumer tax as for gasoline on it, imo). I've also heard the LPG can go boom easier when crashed, but have no sufficient data to prove this.

Btw. my 1.8 litre 125 hp Mitsubishi Carisma goes for 33,6 miles / gallon (7,0 l/100 km)... But needs a "higher quality gasoline" like Shell V-Power, otherwise with a cheap gas the motor gets messed with carbon and loses half of its power - while doubling the consumption at the same time

^^ Thanks for the data ;) :D

I've another question,,, I'm considering getting a smartphone,,, is 2GB for data/ month enough for some surfin', email-checking and Facebook time ?

Chibbi, I frequent 4 "social" sites: BFC, FaceBook, a Czech multi-topical DS and a Czech knife forum. Occassionally I visit Google+ (still not enough people there) and USN. Download some pics and see Youtube clips, not much, say one or two a day. About 2 hrs of net time a day. And it looks like I'm doing a little over 4 GB this month... But I refresh a lot :D

ETA: One more thing regarding the LPG's: When buying a used one, it's good to take it for a check if the gas tank and all the tubing is sealed correctly and doesn't leak the gas. Pretty obvious, but really recommended to check before buying.

2gigs is plenty Chibbi. I have 500meg and never go over and I use my crackberry all the time...

I'm seriously addicted to this shit...

^^ thanks for the data mangs,,, I'll have my neighbour check out the Lupo first before I make any rash decisions

You are referring to "trolling". Yes I agree that I could do this and I probably will. Streamlining my life on the web is not as easy as I thought it would be. Trying to maintain the persona of ob1korobi on all forums is easy. Having many different passwords is not. As long as J puts the knives he is selling here first I should be alright. *wink*

Your priorities are good.

Not really referring to 'trolling,' though. One of my duties involves reaching out and helping folks in many odd places who have very complex, highly technical problems. Or ... are just confused.

Is there a cyber-term for the opposite of 'trolling?' Just wondering ...
