Just got back from a week of camping in the Apostle Islands in Northern Wisconsin. I have some catching up to do.

That Norway stuff. Is crazy

So sad and F'ed up

No one wants the sheep dog around until the wolf is around.

Mike, as you know, luck favors the prepared. It amazes me how much grief I get for carrying a knife, flashlight, Leatherman, FAK, etc.. The grief givers end up using my stuff more than I do, lol. Bahhh

We brought a new buddy for our budgie today. They seem to be happy so far:

Sounds much better than smoking.

^ Very nice summary, BBT! Welcome back! The budgies come with sandals from the production already, LOL :D
Catch up & post pics, then ;) I suppose you had a good time

Morning men.Welcome back BBT. Finally got my VA settlement was rated by them at 60 % disabled for my knee. But they screwed up on somethings so I should get a bigger check somewhere down the road. The free medical coverage is awesome.Doctors that underst5and you. Day 8 of not smoking no cravings yet but dam do I have to pull my ass from the sweets!

I realized my wife took all the pictures this trip and her interests did not include my Horton Hawk, lol.

Things I learned camping this week:

1. A Horton Hawk and Silky Gomboy 300 can easy take care of your 3 season fire needs. You can baton with it through hard wood and/or knots and you could choke up on the Hawk to use it as a knife too. Great combination of tools.

2. Parmesan couscous cooked with beef jerky in the water is a great camping meal.

3. Old school/New school combination of a Exped 9 DownMat and a German wool blanket makes for a good night sleep. The blanket is heavy and may have to take the Kifaru Doobie next time (my wife claimed it recently and doesn't want it to leave our bed, lol).

4. Metal cookware gets extremely hot over an open fire and a sock or wool hat makes a good impromptu Ove Glove.

5. Bacon, particularly precooked bacon that does not need to be refrigerated. Perfect for fire cooked biscuits or on a tortilla.

Huh?

Camping for me usually involved riding to a bike rally, doing alot of drinking, realizing your too drunk too ride home and sleeping with your front wheel as a pillow ..........or sleeping in a tent that smelled with some drunk chick you met..........i think i did some batoning a time or too but didnt need a fire or pot holder...............

Either way i sure we all had fun.................

AHHHH, WASTED YOUTH.....

I got to camp some when I was in the army. It wasn't fun. They had this thing called Continuous Ops Made it a drag. I wish I could go to GA
