Beautiful pics Guyon - Thank Goodness the weather is cooler too even though the fire looks buff enough ;):D

Did you give up the streamlight?

just curious what raingear you wore on that trip and how it held up - Still searching for waterproof AND sweatproof gear

ReadbeAR, the Streamlight is still on the Glock, so night firing is not a huge concern. I'm just not stoked about the relatively cheap plastic sights Glock put on it as stock, and I thought I'd put some tritium sights on it.

I have worn an REI Elements outer shell forever. I decided to rejuvenate the waterproofing with some Nikwax products the day before that trip, and the durn seams started to come off! Am still debating whether or not to take it back to REI. I have had the jacket a long time.

I had to fall back to an inexpensive rain shell I'd picked up at Sam's Club. The name of the apparel line is Free Country.

The Sam's rain jacket worked well enough, but I just picked up a Patagonia shell to replace my tired, old REI Elements. I have Red Ledge rain pants, and those are what I wore. Nothing synthetic IMO is breathable enough when you're quickly humping gear in humid conditions. You're going to sweat, and it's going to feel clammy if you trap it in at all. The worst, I think, is trapping it into a cotton layer. Under my shell, I was wearing a lined, synthetic top that did a good job of wicking moisture. I never got totally soaked, though it was damp.

When I pack in my climbing stand to deer hunt, I go with the minimum of clothing, and all my insulated gear is lashed onto the back. I try to keep from sweating as much as possible.

Thanks Guyon - I know what you mean about the sights. I like the looks of those Rick recommended and definitely respect his choice. Wish there was a place around local to check them out

A house! Yes! Good luck Chibbi!
I just finished a call to a real estate agent - told her we're not buying that overpriced ruin we went to see last time, but she's welcome to try and offer us something better in that area when it pops up...

Mornin' mangs,,,

The joy of little children and diarrhea,,,

Two year old says, 'Daddy, I did poopoo,,,' :p

Each step he takes towards me, he leaves a small puddle of smelly, brown thick ooze on the floor,,,

Seems that diarrhea has found its way trough his diaper, through his underwear, through his PJ's and is running along his leg,,, :barf:

Welcome to my world :grumpy:

I just wrapped him in a towel, dropped him in the shower, undressed him (a bit like I imagine sewer workers must feel) and gave him a good scrub,,, 's all good now
