The large Sebbie just fits better in your hand,,, I owned both, so I could compare and I don't have shovels for hands,,,

9mm vs .45 ,,,makes for a goo read,,,

shot placement, shot placement, shot placement. as long as you are shooting a decent caliber(9mm or bigger) you will be fine. a slow hit beats a fast miss everytime.

I'll bring up the Trooper Coates story again. Trooper Coates shot a badguy(last name Blackburn I think) 6 times with .357 mag after taking one shot from a .22 cal. the .22 cal entered Coates' armpit and struck his heart. He died within a minute. Badguy was hit 6 times point blank by the .357mag and was walking and talking when backup officers arrived. he was survived with no lasting injuries. shot placement beats caliber......

chibbi
i'd take a NIB gun over a tinkered-with gun 99% of the time, unless you know and trust the person that did the work(especially trigger work). I've seen(and owned) a couple of 1911's that were "tinkered-with" and I ended up spending more money to get the shit redone correctly.

True Dat - but you can get some good deals too if you know what it is and they don't

Got a helluva deal on a Colt Delta Elite that had a hammer follow issue - basically automatic - scary

and some cosmetic and cleaning neglect

1911 is a simple design and lots of great diagrams out there to hep you out - I put less than $100 in mine to repair with top end parts and it will bring a return even now - about 2 times my input

I'm far from a gunsmith, but not afraid to delve into it with a little edumacation

i bought my delta off a east indian lady in a nashville pawn shop... she would not be talked down off the price,,,, i had to give the whole $300 ....:thumbdn:

Chibbi - don't get too hung up on the gun -you can replace most of those parts, as they are available - rather focus on the holster

The good leather is somewhat of an elusive opportunity
