CO2 air pistol

Spring piston air guns usually bring it a lot better than CO2 and you never run out of air. I've got a Beeman pistol that I like, a P1, although it's a bit big and heavy for hiking with. Not to mention underpowered compared to even a .22.

I think Krein created a forum just for air guns- need to search my bookmarks to find it but as a general rule you want something spring powered if power is what you want although you can get a really sweet looking FEINWERKBAU modèle P44 which is known for its accuracy and competitive features at a pro target level.
 
look into the crosman 2240, works great as is and makes an excellent platform to customize.
 
Spring action air pistol tend to be very large and recoil more than co2.

Are you looking for a plinking, hunting, or target pistol?

I enjoy the Crosman 2240. There are lots and lots of mods for this gun. They can be made VERY accurate and VERY powerful. You can even get a customized one through the crosman website.

Here is my Custom Crosman I have changed the LPA sight to a williams since this picture was taken. It shoots very tight groups and works well on small game.

This gun has:

custom RB grips
trigger stop
adjustable trigger
10" barrel
williams rear sight
Fiber optic front sight
steel breech and custom bolt
.22 caliber
modified valve

Many mods out there for it.

Personally, I would get a benjamin pumper in .22 or at least the crosman 1377, but it is your $.
