Good idea on the wrap near the head. I have a hawk that the head is almost ready to slip off the top and was thinking of a way to swell the handle. I was thinking of a kerosene soak. I may try the wrap like you did. Nice work.
 
Man, these spikes are getting nicer and nicer. Gonna have to break down and buy one from the old guy ;-)))
