Coated blades

Honestly, I don't have a preference either way. Some knives I like the look of best without a coat. Some I like better with a coat. If I'm looking at a folder for regular EDC stuff, I'll take it without. If I'm looking at something for heavy use, I like the look a larger knife with a scratched and worn coating. And yes, that definitely includes scratches on the coating. I feel like it gives it some character. But, if someone just hands me something with a coat on it that I'd like better without, it doesn't bug me. Same goes the other way around

How many of you guys use DLC coated blades on food?

Is it food-safe? (Yes, I've extensively Google'd this question)

For folders I prefer uncoated blades. I think I've only got 3 coated blades out of the 15-20 I have. Fixed blades, I don't care either way. Maybe half or more are coated.

And yet my favorite folder has a cerakoted blade.

coated blades can bring something "tacticool" to a knife design, but I am usually not a fan of it.
I had some coated blades from Emerson, ER, ZT and Spyderco... I have sold most of them, still have a 0630 with a blade blade.

Actually, I recently put my coated PM2 on a destruction test and the coating has resisted very well to all my abuses.
