For me the Desert Sage and now the Urban Gray coating just don't move at all.

It's really good though, because I like the coating.

Anyone else have any that they found to be really tough?

I have has good luck with the desert sage coating as well. Does anyone have any feedback on how the desert sands coating holds up?

The coatings I have dealt with so far have been pretty pussy thus far. Not that I care much, they just look better with more damage

For me it's been the BM-E era crinkle, right after they switched from the smooth coat.

That's why dobywon had so much fun ;)

Soooooo true, that old school stuff is tuff.

i'll throw a wrench in the gears here... Whatever is under the coating on the newer INFI like the NMSFNO and SAR5 (decarb???) is tougher than John Wayne on tequilla! I've beat this knife relentlessly for over a year... It is my go-to BBQ wood (mesquite) splitter. The marks on the blade are bark/sap along with the batoning marks... tougher than hell...

Agreed with the Sage and Green coatings. Another is Muddy. I've got it on several knives and it's tough.

What about black? I have a black BWM, how is it gonna hold up?

Lets just say that the black coating on my Boss Street is wearing fast just from cutting cardboard while the Sage coating on my BWM is just smoothing out after a lot of very hard use.

I've had good luck with that darker green sometimes called Jungle Green. Muddy isn't as tough.

Yes, the older smoothcoats are also tough.

Who does the coatings for Busse (I'm guessing they don't do it themselves) and can you get a Busse recoated? I'm thinking ahead to when I might want to recoat my black crinkle BOSS Street with something other than black crinkle, something smoother and harder wearing like sage, etc.
