Coatings that wear like iron.

Who does the coatings for Busse (I'm guessing they don't do it themselves) and can you get a Busse recoated? I'm thinking ahead to when I might want to recoat my black crinkle BOSS Street with something other than black crinkle, something smoother and harder wearing like sage, etc.

Not sure who does the coatings ... but Busse Custom Shop can re-do it for you or, for a nominal charge, put on a different one. I've seen a number of folks do it -- and I've had them "freshen" a few of mine without any problems.

Busse knives are steel, so you can definitely get others to put on coatings. I've seen some very complex military-style coatings (ArmorAll, I think) and even a very impressive DLC or diamond-like carbon coating (Jaxx did that recently). Be aware that Busse might interpret some forms of alternate coatings as voiding the warranty -- you could just ask the Busse Crew about this before jumping in.

Hope that helps.

This is what I am talking about, tough coatings.

NMFBM with Urban Gray.

BWM with Desert Sage after months of use.

That is a tough coating, and we know you definately use yours. ;)

I had to change the lighting so the wear would show up.

The NMFBM still looks new under normal lighting. LOL :D
