Coats have many Colors!

*Wake up call for this thread!*
Ken makes a nice knife! When this larger SBJ appeared on the "for sale" forum, I jumped at the chance; first because it was a knife by Ken, and second because I wanted to try a larger swayback in my watch pocket.
I've tried to keep the colorful scheme here, by displaying this knife, colorful itself, with some trade beads from the mid-1800s to early 1900s.
The comparison knife is my Bose-enhanced Case Jack of the same name. Tony rechecked the Rockwell, then reground and blued the knife, making it a high-performance little bugger! Along with it, I carry a Wharncliffe Trapper, and often a third knife somewhere.
This larger Coats Swayback is an attempt to get my packing down to one knife, when I go out for dinner, or off to the Opera!
Yeah, that's right! The Opera!! You KNOW that I am a confessed City slicker!!:D
Anyway, this larger SBJ has really got a lot going for it. It is 3 3/4", but still fits the watch pocket! (The Case is 3 3/16").
Ken's knife is ATS-34, and does NOT need any touch up! Witness another bare spot on my arm!! And that, after cutting up the week's recycling!
With great color and jigging, very firm snap and half stop - exactly how I like it, and wonderful fit and finish, this was money well spent!!
Thanks Ken!!

She's a beauty, Charlie. I love the jigging, and the blade and handle spines flow together perfectly. Great overall proportions and a nice crisp swedge, too.

After seeing all these beautiful knives on this thread, I only have one question. Did Ken ever make an ugly coat? All are so beautiful in so many different ways. Kinda reminds of the coat Joseph had. Oh well maybe someday I will gather enough money to order one of Ken's beautiful knives.

Damn...where has this thread been lurking for the past several months. Charlie that is sweet. With that jigging that knife is fit for the king of the kanucks

:)

It knew how to behave at the opera last night as well (unlike my crude self!). Rested quietly in the watch pocket, ready for anything!:D
Incidently, it was the world premier of an English language opera/story of a brave refugee woman crossing America and Canada seeking justice, right after WWII! An incredible tale; "Lillian Alling".
As intrepid as a U.S.Marine!

Normally I don't like to use 2 Coates of anything, lol!
But I do like to use these 2 Coates!!
The pics are awful! I took them last night.
Both of these knives are NICE! Action on Both
is very smooth but tight! I'm very happy to own
both of these knives from Ken!!
