COC-7 Chisel Grind vs V-Grind

As i just said on the other post very nice. A slight belly is all you really need, and what i believe to be a blood groove on the side is a good idea.

Never fully bought the pierce armor thing ether, as i know from my time in the army that Kevlar vest are not designed to stop a blade at all, thats an entirely different kind of Kevlar vest, like the ones prison guards wear, or cops wear. So military on military conflicts aside if that was the case it sounds like the tanto was designed to kill cops, which is totally messed up...

think further back...

Japanese tantos originated around 1000AD. Basically, tanto means dagger in Japanese. A knife used for stabbing. Japanese battle armor was comprised of scales, and tantos were driven upward, under the scales to pierce the thick padding worn underneath.

Thanks for the info and pictures everyone just have to wait until Tuesday to get it.

Tanto, or tanken, means (half blade). The tanto was a cutter also.
The yoroi toshi, was the specialized armor smashing blade and this one could also cut.

That makes more sense. The american tanto though, wasn't that just a marketing thing? i mean its not like the japanese tantos.

Im a use my tanto to take out that samurai in my neighborhood who keeps burning down my crops and taking most of my rice harvest.

Some Japanese blades were made with that straight, (American) style point also. Most points were curved though. The Japanese had so many variations of their basic blade shapes.
The only thing American is the hollow grind, I do believe.
