Well, I haven't made a full tang knife in 3 years, and it doesn't appear I'll be making another one in the near future!
When I was doing stainless stuff, I bought some blocks of handle material and cut them into oversized pieces.
I have 10 matched sets of coco bolo that are 7/16 X 2 X 6.
10 sets of Lignum Vitae (Guayacan) that are a big 3/8 X 1 3/4 X 5.
They are just taking up room in my handle material safe. I'm sure I cut them up at least 5 years ago!
Remember that the Guayacan is the desest wood in the world! The coco bolo is a really deep dark red/brown and they both polish out great.
Some nice stuff for anyone that could use it!
SOLD!

The lignum vitae is basically 3/8" X 1 7/8" X 6".
It is known as the densest wood in the world. It weighs 80 pounds/ square foot!
I have personally seen it throw sparks off of a belt!
It is rather plain grained in comparison to some of the other woods we use, but it has a really unique feature of having a waxy substance as part of its structure.
When you shape it, (and I would recommend a file to avoid heat), hand sand it to about 1500 grit and it polishes like you had waxed it! And it stays that way.
I would rather not split it up. A hundred and seven bucks is not a lot of money for this amount of material, and that way I only need to box it up once and only make one trip to the Post Office!
