This is a straight back blade I recently completed. It has a single edge quench, triple tempered blade of 3/16" 1084. The handle is of cocobolo. It's full height flat ground and the edge has been taken to .025" thickness. The hardening line is not visible because I'm still learning how to use my digicam.

Thanks for looking!:)

All the best,
Mike U.

Here is kind of a grainy close-up of the handle against a back drop of a slab of amboyna burl.
I gotta practice some more with this camera.:(

Thanks for looking!

Specs, specs man give us the specs, well at least the blade length.:D
Looks super nice Mike,I really like the flow it has.It really looks like it would make a great camp knife.

Oops! Sorry Stumpy! It's 5 1/2" long in the blade and 10 1/2" in overall length. Your absolutely right! It was made as a Camp Knife. I think a smaller overall length knife would be more useful for trimming down branches to start a fire and do the food prep chores that need doing in camp. This knife limbs out branches fairly well and cuts up onions and carrots as well as a regular kitchen chef's knife. I'm liking this design quite a bit so far.:D

All the best,
Mike U.
