Here is my latest 8" French style chef knife.
It features a ladder pattern damascus blade, with integral rose damascus bolsters.
The handle is of gorgeous old stock Cocobolo wood.
Zero-edge before sharpening, and thin with a tall heel, 7-3/4oz. total weight.
It features a subtle flat/center-line grind with slight convexity in the lower third, to promote food release.

This knife started at $800...NOW DROPPED TO $500 + shipping. My wife tells me the IRS wants $700 of my money by the 25th...
THIS KNIFE IS NOW SOLD.

Thanks for looking!

Alrighty then, dropping price to $650. Let's get it gone, if no sale in two weeks, it goes to a friend to repay a favor.

Wow... This is gorgeous. Unfortunately it a bit out of reach for me at the moment. If you get another one in a couple of months I wil be all over it.

What is the handle length and diameter, the amount of knuckle clearance, and the balance point?

Thank you.

From the front of the bolster (which I consider the front of the handle) to the butt, the length is 4-7/8".
The bolster and front of the wood are 9/16" thick, which continues throughout the length, and 13/16" tall, which increases as can be seen in the handle profile.
The heel is 2-1/16" tall, so with an aggressive hammer grip, my bony middle knuckle will just touch the board. With a more reasonable hammer grip (if such a thing exists) no knuckles will touch.
The point of balance is right at the torch mark on the blade- i.e., right where I'd be gripping for pinch cutting.
Here is a video of it and its sister, for some idea of its dimensions in hand.

My friend will have to wait for his knife... my non-friend the IRS wants back taxes from when I was making money!
