My name is Kyle Royer, I am 17 years old.
I've been making knives for three years but mostly after going to the Bill Moran School of Bladesmithing last April.
I am going for my Journeyman Smith stamp at the 2009 Blade Show.


This Coffin Handle Bowie knife is made out of 5160 with a 6 1/2 inch blade and an overall length of 11 1/4 inches.
The three piece ferrule is made out of stainless steel and brass, the guard and frame are also made out of stainless steel.
The handle is made out of Redwood Burl.

The price for this knife is $475.

I can also make a nice leather sheath for $50, if you wanted one.

I've been making knives for the better part of forty years and I have to tell you that this is some of the finest work I've ever seen coming out of a young man like yourself.

Usually, the skills that are required to accomplish what I see in this Bowie isn't found until one has spent many long years in the business. You, my young friend are quite exceptional, and to produce this quality at such a young age is remarkable.

You are going places Kyle, so get your bags packed, you are in for one terrific journey.
