Coffin Handle Fighter with W-2

Thanks for all the kind words.

Chuck, Raymond I won't be making it to Eugene this year. I'm gonna try and focus on five special knives. You guys are gonna have to have all the fun without me.:D

Really a fine knife, Mike. It's a shame about those stains on the blade near the spine and again near the edge. I've got some light abrasive that might be able to get those out.:D I did a couple like that for John White. Come to think of it, he never did thank me.

Great work Mike! What I like about your work is you don't have just one style that is in your "wheelhouse", you excel at everything!

Hey Mike,

Not much I could say that that hasn't been said already, other than this has to be one of my all time favorites.

Nice knife! I hope that a knife like that is what I'm building my collection towards.

Very awesome knife Mike! I hope your five knives go really well for you this year too! :D Looking good. :)

That is just.....absolutely stunning !
Do you ever bother taking photos showing the progress, step-by-step, from flat bar/ wood to finished masterpiece? Something for us, the proletariat, to enjoy and admire.
That piece is worth a documentary - you probably don´t have the time, but I reckon a lot of guys would enjoy it.
Hats off!

Thomas, I've never done a WIP simply for the time involved. My hat goes off to the folks that do take the time to greatly catalog each step with pictures and a detailed explanation. I sometimes take pics along the way and send them to my customers. Here are a couple of the knife before it's put together. Just for clarification the steel is forged from Don Hanson 2 5/8" round W2. I cut off a slice in my bandsaw, weld on a handle, then get to forging. The frame is twist damascus bar that I cut down the middle and then forged to shape off my handle template using the inside of the bar on the outside of the frame to get the best pattern to show.
