Howdy folks,
Here's something a bit different from me. It's been about 10 years since I made a coffin handled knife, and that one was pretty bad. I hardly ever use plate guards either, so this knife was kind of practice for me. It didn't turn out too bad, but the fit and finish is not quite up to my usual standard, so I'm selling this really cheap. (see below)
Another reason it's so cheap is the damascus isn't quite as clean as I like, not to mention it's kind of boring. There aren't any cold shuts or slag inclusions (those blades go in the trash) it's just that the last weld didn't look as perfect. Structurally it's fine, there's just a slightly greater chance that that weld line will rust a bit. Keep it clean, dry, and oiled.
For all these reasons, I left my name off.
Steel: 1084 and 15n20, about 150 layers. The knife will be sharp on both edges.
Hardness: 58-59
Blade length: 7.5"
Total length: 12.25"
Blade thickness: 7/32"
Handle material: black paper micarta
Fittings: the guard and spacer are nickel silver (something else I hardly ever use anymore) The pin is stainless.
Price: $350 shipped
I can take paypal, check, or MO. Please send paypal to 2000pjp at gmail dot com
If using a check, allow 10 business days for it to clear before shipment. Please make sure knife is still available before sending payment.
Sheath is going to be a pretty basic stick-through-the-belt type leather sheath.
Thanks for looking!
