After talking with the new owner we decided I would post as he felt my pictures were a bit better. (this knife is SOLD and not available)

First I wanted to thank everyone for taking the time to post in my thread on long pulls that extend across the flat of the tang,! This gave me the inspiration to try it on this jack This is a 3 1/2 coffin jack pattern that came to me by way of Mike Z.(thanks Mike and Tony).

I found that the finish work on a coffin jack is a challenge for several reasons. The back bolster flats/bevels and lines on the butt are very tough to keep flat and even and sharp. Also the fact that the scales transition from a flat to a round at the front bolsters.

I wanted to add a little bit extra and use a long pull on the pen blade. I took the trouble to modify my cutter and scale the width of this pull down to fit the size of the pen.

3 1/2 closed
ATS-34 flat ground 600 grit hand finish blades
Pre-ban Ivory
Half stops with long pulls
Cut swedges master blade, cut swedge pile side pen, drawn swedge master side pen

Over all this was a very challenging and rewarding knife for me to build. Thanks for looking and comments more than welcome.

She's another beauty, Ken. I wasn't entirely sure how I felt about those really long pulls, but you've made a believer of me.

Beautiful knife and wonderful execution of the design. Thanks for posting pics!

Absolutely stunning! Wow.
I love the way the utility blade slot is shortened. I've never seen that before.

Ken,that is outrageous!!!:thumbup::thumbup::thumbup:

That is a great looking design. I can't wait to own something like that one of these days. I think I would like it better with standard size long pulls, but it wouldn't break the deal for me. Great job!

Those long pulls really came out well. I bet it was hard to work those angles on the end.

Very nice knife with extended spring, ivory, etc., etc.

Is yours a little wider than Tony's pattern, or maybe that's the angle of the photos?

I handled one of Tony's at Blade that was a little smaller than this. Very cool pattern.

Excellent knife. I know the new owner will be x-cited! ;)

Ken - thanks again for crafting such a beautiful knife.
And sharing the photos for all to see!

I love everything about this one - the long pulls, the swedges, and of course the ivory.

Hi Mike,

I am not sure on the width. The pattern was copied by Mike Z on a piece of titanium and sent to me. It may have increased a bit after being reproduced a few times. Normally I draw all my own patterns but after seeing one of Mike's coffin jacks at the Badger show and commenting on it, he offered to send the pattern.
