After talking with the new owner we decided I would post as he felt my pictures were a bit better. (this knife is SOLD and not available)
First I wanted to thank everyone for taking the time to post in my thread on long pulls that extend across the flat of the tang,! This gave me the inspiration to try it on this jack This is a 3 1/2 coffin jack pattern that came to me by way of Mike Z.(thanks Mike and Tony).
I found that the finish work on a coffin jack is a challenge for several reasons. The back bolster flats/bevels and lines on the butt are very tough to keep flat and even and sharp. Also the fact that the scales transition from a flat to a round at the front bolsters.
I wanted to add a little bit extra and use a long pull on the pen blade. I took the trouble to modify my cutter and scale the width of this pull down to fit the size of the pen.
3 1/2 closed
ATS-34 flat ground 600 grit hand finish blades
Pre-ban Ivory
Half stops with long pulls
Cut swedges master blade, cut swedge pile side pen, drawn swedge master side pen
Over all this was a very challenging and rewarding knife for me to build. Thanks for looking and comments more than welcome.
