Well, in honor of the 2011 Case/Bose Collab, let's see some coffin jacks. I'll start with this nifty little "Carbo Magnetic". Manufactured by Griffin XX Cutlery in Worcester, MA until about 1921 (at least according to Levine's 4th). Indeed, both blades are magnetic.

Moved at Campbell's request...

That is too cool! I was Jones'n for some coffin handle knives a few weeks ago. Thanks.

The only coffin jack I've owned was a Bluegrass Winchester. It was a great knife, but it moved on to a new owner, and I can't find the pictures

great looking rare knife pattern, thanks for showing. i've only had one of that type & it was a crandall.thanks for the good pic.--dennis

The Franklin Mint made this knife. I posted it over in Bernard Levine’s forum a while back and found out that Ben Franklin probably made these back in Colonial times. (Of course, there was some debate on whether they were actually used in the Civil War, and by which side.)

I was able to acquire this knife thanks to a factory find by Tim Barker from Tennessee. I have the certificate in my safe deposit box.

Unfortunately, it seems as though that Bose fellow did not stick to the true spirit of the coffin knife when he made his pattern. I can only hope that Case chooses to rectify this with its rendition.(Cnasty, I likes yours just fine.)

I use it to de-animate frozen Cornish game hens.

Just my opinion, but it appears that is a fake tang stamp on the Drac Jack.

That Dracula knife is to die for!!!

:D

Mike I always wondered how one would de-animate a game hen. Tell me, for the Drac-Jack to be effective do you have to shoot the hens with a silver bullet?

Here's a (Black Box) Winchester,
It's a nice one! I really like the bone!
Thanks for looking.:D

Here is a downright nifty Coffin Jack with ebony scales. A good friend let me take a few pictures of it today. Both blades are stamped. I marvel at the swedge on the spear. Pretty cool stamp on the end cap too.

Nice the way they finished it with a wrap around spring for the pen blade.

If anyone has any ideas on when it was made, or what knife company made it, I'd love to hear some comments.
