Has anyone used this stuff? Will it work in a downpour or at least when wet? Is it faster or better in any way in an emergency than any other methods? Thanks for any insights.
i have used this stuff extensively in the big horn mountains in december, at zero degrees, with a howling wind it is a life saver, you can start a fire anywhere with this stuff, i di not try it on ice but i did use it on snow covered wood and it worked just fine.
It works well in extreme conditions - if the formula is the same as I used a lot of years ago. Once it starts little will put it out - so don't get any on you. Lots of natural wood resins work about the same (spruce or pine pitch). Ordinary cotton baton soaked in petroleum jelly works too.
