Assuming the handle is not a take-down design and will be glued, what do you folks generally do about the spaces in coined spacers? Do you leave the spaces open or do you fill the spaces with a black pigmented epoxy for example?

I leave them open as I'm more worried about such small surface areas not having sufficient adhesion and coming out. My luck would be that random ones would come out rather than all or none.

Hmmmmm, my next question might be:

If I choose to leave the spaces open, How do I keep glue out of the spaces or get them cleaned out after glue up? I usually do clean up with Q-tips and alcohol but the spaces are too tight to get in there. I'll figure it out.

Assuming your spacer stack and guard are pinned together with guide pins, just superglue them together as a stack. Then glue your stack to the handle, etc. with epoxy as usual. Epoxy won't ever get near the coining.

clean them with a tooth pick every half hour until it stops coming out. then give them a scrub with an old toothbrush and alcohol.

whoops, i guess how often you clean them depends on the hardening time of the epoxy. i use gflex, it takes about 5 hours before it starts to harden.
