I realize that Community may be more appropriate, but Col Cooper was one of the serious good men in this world.

Always controversial, always forward thinking, and anyone of us who has bought, carried, trained with or used a handgun with the intention of it being a personal fighting tool owes the man an incredible debt of gratitude for his work in this respect.

The notice is at The High Road here - sorry, I guess I don't know how to set up the link to look clean.

Aw CRAP!

RIP Colonel Cooper.

I will never forget his words about pistols when double action 9mm's started becoming all the rage.

"A double action pistol is a perfect solution to a non-existant problem".

In the beginning of the 1911 vs high cap 9mm's debate ...

" A large capacity magazine is an advantage if you miss a lot".

wow sure hate to hear that, he's been an idol of mine since i was a teenager, he had a wealth of knowledge about guns, philosophy and the english language, almost feels like when john wayne died i honestly felt the old codger would outlive me.

i had the honor to shake his hand at a hunting convention many yrs ago, and will always remember that moment.

i think i'll leave my 9MM at home and pack my 1911 the rest of the month in remembrance. i think i have some hornady 230gr ball to load it with also, still not a bad combo 50 yrs after he first started championing it.

a very intersting and great man imho, we could have all learned a thing/3 from him imho.

Colonel Cooper made it okay for me as a lady to shoot a 1911...and well. He taught us all who is really responsible for our safety.

Go with God, Colonel!

I'll be learning from him even now after he is gone.

RIP Colonel.
