A generous offer! Thanks Rob!!
Touched by Scagel, Queen, Northwoods, Rob and Oupa! How great is that??!!

A very rare knife for a give away. Thanks for your generosity.

I dont contribute wit many posts but when I do its almost exclusivly in the traditional forum. Its the knifes that interest me and its also the kind atmosphere here in this subforum that draws me to read.

Some one is going to be a very "Happy Camper" with that one. Thanks for the chance.

.. If I'm not mistaken, Lignum Vitae is one of the more hard, heavy, dense, woods around. Sinks in water, traditional wood for British police billy clubs, belaying pins on the USS Constitution were made from it, used in ship's propeller tube bearings and on and on. Should make a decent knife handle.:D

Great information. Thanks, Rob.

Upwards of eight inches of snow headed this way tonight as well, the whole country's freezing over this winter! (Milk and bread sales must be through the roof tonight;):D )I'll take a chance, thanks Rob, that's mighty generous of you:thumbup::thumbup:

Eric

You're getting some of what we got last night. Guess the storm's charging up over Erie.

Awesome knife, thanks for the chance!

That wood and the story with it FORCES me to join! Thanks for a very decent minded contest.

Rob, that is a really nice knife with a lot of charisma that you are sharing here. Hat's off to you pal.

Anthony, I really enjoyed the info you shared here. Good on you bud!

In addition to the attributes shared here about lignum vitae (the "wood of life"), I would like to add that beekeepers (once had 10 hives myself) highly value access to Texas lignum vitae (a sub-species not just unique to Tejas) for the blossoms whose pollen can be converted by the miraculous honey bee into honey with a slightly citrus tint that is regarded by many as nigh unto heaven.
