Cold Steel 2011 Voyager

My pics didn't come up when I tried to link them but here's my Flickr photo page: http://www.flickr.com/photos/jeffphansen77/with/6592979423/?hide_photostream_welcome=1

They look better in person. It wasn't much work. You will have to resharpen them because you'll take the edge off buffing near the edge. The XL Voyager still has the stonewashed finish. I also gave my buddy's Recon 1 & AK-47 the same treatment. I took them apart & scraped the teflon off with a dull S&W folder, sanded a bit (1000, i think), & then Flitzed them. Again, they look better in person. My photo abilities are lacking.

Wow. Looks great. Can I ask what kind of stock finish is under the black Teflon? Thanks.

Its a sort of matte grey stonewash looking finish, a bit heavier than the one on the Voyagers. It looks okay. There are pictures of it around on the forum. Others were scraping the teflon off after it started to wear off & their pictures gave me the idea.

The scales can be ground down extremely easily under the clip if you do not wish to have your pants shredded. The Grivory is hard and does not blob or smear, it just grinds off as dust. Go easy and use a light touch as it comes off quickly. After reinstallation the clip was still tight and had great retention.
