I've just now seen the 2014 lineup and am very excited. I will definitely be picking up one of the spears and possibly a billhook, just 'cause. I've also been on the fence about snagging a longsword or hand-and-a-half for a while now; the MAA series has me pretty sure that I'll grab one or the other now (I like the look of the MAA series, and in addition a few bucks off retail doesn't hurt).
Also, way to go on the 1917 Bowei-the aesthetics are bad-ass. I've seen some mixed reviews on them so far, may hold out to see if any tweaks are made based on complaints. Either way, the concept is awesome. What I particularly like is that it appears to be a full tang blade that makes a real effort at looking like a historical Bowie or at least the idea of one. One thing that has kept me away from the Natchez blades is the hilt construction. I really love the idea of a full tang, big-ass, historically intended fighter type Bowie. I would love to see and would pay for a higher grade steel version.
I like cold steel folders, and have and use a few, as well as many from other brands, but Cold Steel, to me, really stands out for the following reasons: they occupy a specific niche of the historic replica sword/weapon market that no one else really seems to in terms of historic variety, retail price, and ruggedness of use, and continues to get my money for that reason. Keep it up. Some really fun ideas, IMHO, with this year's lineup.
Outside of the 2014 lineup, I will also be buying a 1796 Light Cav. Saber, and possibly an 1830 Napoleon Saber.
