Hello DocJD…I couldn’t resist and ordered 2 of them. Just removed one from the clam packaging (use strong pair of scissors…easiest way). Triad lock is great (easy to disenagage), blade is centered, everything looks good🙂. I was on the fence about the 4 Max Scout but this price was too good to pass up. $97 and some change…so each knife was basically $48.50. Did want to say that the blade stock on these newer 4Max Scouts is slightly thinner than the older ones (saw it on a YouTube video). But that’s perfectly fine with me. Still a super strong monster folder and will probably slice better in fact. Thanks DocJD!!! I’m going to keep the other one inside the clam package, LOL!

He explains the differences between pre/post acquisition. Doesn’t bother me at all…I actually think the slightly thinner blade stock will make for a better slicer. If I’m not mistaken, the Joe X guy did his crazy torture test on the newer (thinner) version. Any way, I think this deal has to be one of the best out there for such a incredibly strong folder.

Don’t hate the player, hate the game! LOL! Seriously, when I received my 4Max Scouts, it gave me a glimmer of hope for CS. Perhaps everything is not over yet? Yeah I know, just a pipe dream….but at least I got an opportunity to own 2 awesome zombie apocalypse knives at a very reasonable price.
 
If the new 5 Max, and Mayhem match the current quality, it will be another serious-win for Cold Steel. Relaunching some of their legacy-blades would also rock. Imagine a new-version of the Hatamoto, or a Black Rhino with the triad lock.

Patent is gonna run out . They need a new exclusive wonder lock to charge higher prices .

That's why the Atlas and why they claim it's better .

They will need to prove it !
 
My new Scout landed today. Perfect in every way! Switched-it to my preferred orientation, added a lanyard, and oiled the pivot. Ready-to-rock!

The place has rotating sales "of the week", though some seem to last longer, of Cold Steel products. The prices are crazy good and it's a very dangerous website. If you're not careful, you'll have boxes showing up every month and pissing off your wife 😆

Ah! Thanks . . . I'll have to remember to check occasionally, especially during midweek or midmonth. I always liked Missouri for some reason.
 
Right now the Drop Forged Bowie is on sale for $48.06! That's a steal for a knife that's almost an integral handled Trailmaster! It's slightly thinner and has a curved handle, but Cold Steel's 52100 is awfully good steel with a great heat treat, to boot. They also have an SRK for $29. That'll make a great truck knife for me!

I noticed that . . . and almost . . . but I'm trying to avoid impulse purchases, even if the deal is amazing. I need to downsize! I know, it's blasphemy.
