Ok then what would be a good folder knife that has a blade around 3.5 in?

What do you want to do with it? Still want to do heavy duty fixed blade tasks with it?

If you want to do "folding knife" taks with it....like czombie said...there are a ton of them. What do want to do....how much you wanna spend?

price around 70 and below. wieght below 4 ounces. blade non-tanto. steel -quality steel. and of and on edc when i am in a sketchy place. hard use

I own a pre 2010 axis lock AK47.

I love it! I carry it every day plus I must have open and closed it just flicking it open for fun a 1000 times or more with little to no bladeplay and that easily fixed with a screwdriver

I would recommend this knife to anybody

So...you want a lightweight, sub 70 dollar folder that has the strength of a fixed blade that you can use as a weapon. Correct?

Don't we all? to the OP, I really think that the kershaw JYD II composite is one of the best hard use knives for the money. besides, it is very comfortable. blems are about 55 bucks.

I own one of the old style AK-47's with the aluminum handles and the axis lock. This thing is solid++, and I have never had an issue with it. It is my favorite patrol knife and the pommel has served many purposes. I've used it as a window breaker and pry bar for doors and windows. I wouldn't hesitate to use it as a yawara if need be either. I also own the American Lawman and a ProLite. Both good solid workers. Paul

Sorry for getting off course here, but I removed the "teflon" coating with some fine sand paper. Emory cloth really. That stuff comes off real easy.

I have the original Ak-47, with aluminum handles. The big grip and wide fat bellied blade makes for efficient cutting. It has become a favorite using knife especially for cutting boxes. Love the design. Unfortunately it is too heavy to be my EDC, though I know people who do carry it as such, including a successful martial arts instructor.

i miss the groove that was in the blade of the pre 2010 models

while i like the new one i think the old one was better, here's mine . used and abused and still carried daily with no problems or blade-play.

sorry for the crappy pic and book

I love the recon one tanto for a large heavy duty folding knife but the sog trident is a great edc knife an both are reasonably priced for the quality
