Photos Cold Steel and your other favorite brands.

I have and like the Adamas but it pales compared to the 4-Max (and Scout) as well as my beloved AD-10.
I have and like many folders from Chris Reeve, Emerson and others but they cannot bum my beloved AD-10 from the pocket most days.
Cold Steel, to me, means value, performance, durability and customer service. Is it no surprise then that I also like Becker Knives, Kabar, Buck and Leatherman?

What other brands? According to many of the members of this site, we die-hard Cold Steel fans are just blind loyalists who wouldn't recognize a quality knife if someone gave it to us!

But, since you asked, I guess I can pretend like I enjoy other knives besides Cold Steel. With the exception of the fixed blades, all of these knives come from my regular carry rotation.

I have to admit I am surprised at the amount of Spyderco here, I thought they were the CS Nemesis.

Not trying to start anything, but I have only heard good things between the two companies. For example, supposedly the owner of Spyderco said LT was the only knife maker who paid them for using the hole in the blade idea and everyone else just stole it.

Anyway, I like and own a fair number of Spydercos. Despite all my efforts, my wife and daughter prefer them because the locks are easy to disengage. I have told them to get stronger but there it is.

Gun owners often dislike Bitchmade for their leftist anti gun political contributions and activities.

Cold Steel loves guns and freedom.

Thanks for letting me know exactly what kind of person you are. Welcome to the ignore list!

I don’t think there any animosity from CS fan towards Spyderco, and I’ve never seen it here.
However I do see a lot of Spyderco fan shit talking CS in general, both in their subforum here and the Spyderco forum.
There’s also a lot of bullying and jokes about CS from Spyderco fan on social media like Insragram. Just look at @pm2og IG page, a self proclaimed spyderco “influencer”, this guy posts a meme about CS every other week, usually depicted CS user as being stupid or redneck.

I mentioned it as tongue in cheek, kinda like Ford/Chevy rivalry. I try to stay away from the other platforms where anything goes to get attention.

My first "good" knife was a Benchmade and I ended up with quite a few of them over the years. I also bought several Spydercos, ZT, Kershaw, etc. Then I bought my first waved Emerson. It opened faster than I could open my autos. For a long time, I felt like I was giving something up if I carried anything but a waved Emerson.

In finally bought a Cold Steel Recon 1 spear point. I immediately bought the clip and tanto versions. Then came an AD-10 and 4 Max Scout. These knives have been rotating through my pocket and I am enjoying them a lot. I used to think my ZT 301 was at the size limit of something I would EDC. Ha! I don't feel that way any longer...

If you want the Emerson wave experience with one of your Cold Steel folders, slap on a Snaggletooth MF thumb stud replacement. It’s like having a better Emerson in my opinion.

I already have a three-pack in my shopping cart! I'm waiting until after the holidays when my financial situation may recover... ;)
i like the idea that the Snaggletooth is removable/replaceable.

Thanks,
Bob
