Cold Steel Appreciation Thread

These are my first Cold Steel knives, 2010-2011.
I'm sure Nutnfancy was the one that really got me excited about Cold Steel, and fueled the start of my value knife addiction.
I liked Cold Steel because they were 'cool', but rugged. Until Cold Steel, cool had always meant junk.
I unknowingly threw away the boxes for the Koban and large Voyager. Luckily, I learned to hold on to the boxes early on.

Yup, I remember the old Voyagers. When they were around I was living on the north shore of Lake Athabasca. I was only doing fixed blades then because it was normal there to wear one. I had a Buck 119, which I gave to a female teacher when we left. But I had ordered in a Becker Brute while up there. I shot a lot of Ptarmigan and one light whack with the brute took a wing off instantly. I traded off that Becker Brute to "The Warrior" in the Becker sub forum years ago......... I wish that I could find those old pics.

I had the African walking stick and gave it away. I tried the axe head cane and found that it jiggled/vibrated when a walked with it. (6'2, 250) so I didn't buy. I got that Walkabout, or whatever it's called, and Bingo, perfect. I drilled a small hole just below the ball for some para cord. It relieves me from having to grip it as tightly. Although tempted, and I still might get, the pistol grip City Stick, I wanted something oriented more to rough outdoor use. That Walkabout is an extra leg going down steep hill sides while metal detecting, or for knocking Horseshoe fungus off of Birch trees, etc. I have almost no cartilage in some of my lower vertebra from motorcycle accidents many years ago. Day to day life usually no stick. But over 3 plus hours on my feet I feel it. The stick is pretty handy at times. And yes thank you L.T., and his old crew, for highly useful and affordable products, whatever form they came in.
I have a couple of their walking sticks and a sword cane. Thanks for the idea about putting a para cord thru the handle of my Walkabout. It will feel like a new item now. Ideas like that are why I enjoy this forum.

I am in BIG trouble friends. I can’t stop snatching up Cold Steel Knives. In the last week I have bought an extra recon tanto, a code 4 tanto, a mini tac tanto, an AD10, a kobun tanto and finally, a Magnum tanto II. I gotta say, the AD10 and Magnum tanto are incredible knives, simply incredible. This isn’t to take away from any other Cold Steel blade, they are very good blades. But the AD10 and Magnum II? They’re on a whole other level. At the very least, I’ll have something to decorate the studio apartment I’ll be renting after my wife kicks me out.
