Cold Steel Bushman, handle mod

Sounds to me like you have a Trailmaster.

The Trailmaster has a 9 1/2 inch blade, not 7 1/2. It can be the Recon Scout, this is a shorter version of the Trailmaster.

I wraped my handle using regular hockey tape. I taped it just like you would the top of a hockey stick. It works great.

i broke/ruined two drill bits trying that and didnt even make a scratch in the surface... just so you know. -Eric

What type of drill bits? Any of the metal (eg: bi-metal, cobalt...) drill bits should work fine as the CS Bushman is only hardened to 55 Rc IIRC.

I just ordered a Cold Steel Bushman after reading many threads about it. I figure for $20 I can't go wrong. Has anyone modified the handle on this knife? I'm thinking of getting some golf club grip material to wrap around it. Has anyone else done anything to their's to help keep the handle from slipping out of your hand? If you have pics, that would be great. Thanks
Hockey tape makes for great grips. Take a foot or so and spin it around until you have a round string of tape. Wind it on making a ridge in a spiral motion with about a 3/4 in space between the windings. Then take the tape and go over the winding flat. Works great.
