Cold steel code 4 CTS XHP issue

Am I just being picky or the grind is just unacceptable? My recon 1 in CTS XHP is centered but not this one.

It's definitely an off-grind. If it were my knife, as long as the edge was functionally sound, I'd just live with it. For what these knives cost, they are users. In the case of your knife, you can expect the primary edge grinds to be shallower on side of the short ground secondary edge and deeper on the long side, but the overall inclusive angle of the primary cutting edge won't be affected. In other words, just use it, sharpen it like normal, and accept the fact that yours isn't going to win the "Most Perfect Cold Steel Beauty Contest." I've found that the knifes I receive that are less-than-perfect, I end up using the most because I'm less worried about their appearance. And in time, these are the knives that I grow to love the most because they've developed character that only comes from use.

This is acceptable for just about any production knife. I think you're being a tad critical. Seriously.

There's simply no point in getting so worked up over such a minor cosmetic flaw. Keep your OCD in check and enjoy the knife. Life's too short to sweat over insignificant things like that.

Yeah, that is pretty standard.

I recommend CRK if that sort of thing bothers you. I mean that sincerely because it bothers me, which is why I appreciate and pay extra for better attention to detail.

I would live with it. But if it's unacceptable to you, return it and get it exchanged.

Pretty much my philosophy also. If it is functional, just use it. I 50/50 pondered complaining about a Condor Hudson Bay that I bought years ago. It had a serious warp in the blade, but it cut and chopped so I decided that I could live with the warp................... Until it came time to sharpen it again, and was always reminded of the irritating warp, and associated weird sharpening results. I finally emailed a complaint to Condor and they sent me a spankin new warp free Hudson Bay. In the end the warp made decent sharpening a semi dysfunctional chore for me, so that was my line in the sand.
