As a "hideout" neck knife I'd say the Culloden is a good choice. For a utility neck knife, you could do better.
It's hard to see in pictures how thin and small the Culoden's handle really is. On the plus side, it prints very little. On the minus side, you must brace the butt against your palm because there is no guard and scant handle to keep your hand from slipping onto the blade. Bracing against the palm will work, but I'm always a bet hesitant to trust anything I have to "think about" in a stressful situation. If you get the Culloden, practice this grip often!
My other concern is with the blade format / blade steel. You can only get an AUS-8 Culloden serrated. CS serrations are an awful pattern, and seem totally out-of-place on this thrusting pattern, anyhow. If you want plain-edge, you have to get Carbon V. That's excellent for many uses, but I wouldn't wear a non-stainless close to my body. If CS offered an AUS-8 plain-edge Culloden, then you'd have a pretty fine neck-knife.
In short, I wouldn't call the Culloden ideal, but as a last-ditch hideout knife it's a pretty good choice. For utility I'd want something with a different blade shape.
