Cold Steel dlc coating

Is it just me or does the dlc coating on cold Steel really mess with the function of the knife? Just got the American lawman. This is my fifth cold Steel purchase, but the first with dlc coating. It's not that the knife doesn't work. It just seems stiff. Stiffest triad lock I've seen. It doesn't seem to snap close the way my other cold steels do. It just kinda closes. Flicking it open isn't all that fun either. Locks up solid and works fine. Just doesn't seem to have that snap close I've come to expect from cold Steel. Has anyone else noticed this?

Well, I have bought quite a few of the newer Cold Steel's with Carpenter CTS-XHP and DLC-coating.

They are much smoother than the previous Aus-8A versions were.

My Lawman was quite stiff at first but it smoothed out after a few weeks. A little BreakFree helps. My Recon 1 was smooth from the start. I like the DLC coating. It's only a few microns thick, and extremely smooth, so I would think it would help, not hinder, opening/closing.

Pretty sure I just got a bad one. I know triad locks are tough to disengage, but this one's ridiculous. And they should always close tight. I shouldn't have to worry about poking myself cause blade is open a bit.
