Hey guys I carry a zero tolerance and love it but I want to have a variety that I could choose from to carry. I'm thinking the medium Espada would be a nice knife. If you guys have any other suggestions or any info on the Espada knife that would be great. Try to keep the price tag under 150 if its possible :)

Thanks

Hold out for the G10 handle Espadas coming soon.

I know this really doesn't matter in a knife but I really dont likenthe way the new ones look like it's just my personal opinion. I don't mean to insult anyone.

Whatever you end up getting is merely a gateway drug that will eventually lead to a Demko custom of some kind.

To be honest none of those the knife is a perfect fit for me I'm just looking to add the the collection and I'm wanting a variety of what I can carry.
I also am kinda thinking about carrying one on my ankle and one in my pocket.

I would check out the blurs. they are nice and thin, they open fast, and you can get them in S30V or CPM154.

Also, the JYD II is a very nice, large knife that is relatively inexpensive. if you want something heavier duty, look at the ZT 0200. sweet knife. a leek could be nice if you want something low-profile. it is all up to you.

As posted earlier I'm not fond of the look of the new ones.
Is the large to big for carry?

Yeah they are not as attractive as the originals..I don't think it would be too big. I have carried a spartan before without a problem and it's not that much smaller than the large.

I live in California also they are REAL strict on knife laws so I'm not sure how long the blade can be I think it's 5 inches. Correct me if I'm wrong.

I'm also in California and from what I understand there is no law on size or length of concealed folders only on switch blades, automatics, etc.

I also remember in one of coldsteel's videos that Lynn Thomson said he carried a large espada. Lynn lives in california.

He is right. I carried a L Espada for several months. That is about the largest folder I'd carry comfortably. I'm in Fresno, CA.

You guys just made my day! :)
I'm gonna go with the large Espada now that I know that.
Charlie Mike- how did it feel in your pocket did you relize that it was big for a folder or was it just like any other pocket knife?

I would highly recommend against the Espada. It sounds like you favor more heavy duty knives, in which case a good warranty might be a plus. ZT's is the best in the business, but Cold Steel's is the worst. I'd recommend you get another ZT, maybe wait until the 0550 comes out (unlike the 0551, this one will be discounted by some online dealers).

For other tough options, look at the Spyderco Manix 2, Gayle Bradley, and Para Military 2, the Benchmade 710, and the Al Mar SERE. I particularly like the Gayle Bradley; it has that bank vault feel and about the nicest steel you can find.
